Day #5 The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge - Meeting More of Our Sponsors

Welcome to Day #5 of The Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge where we're remembering our dear blogging friend
Janis Woolbright.

Happy WCMD to you all!
I can't think of a better way to spend today than with card making friends from across the world and remembering someone who contributed so much to the crafting community with her annual Cat Lovers Hop.

Hold the front page...

And another returning sponsor has just joined the list! I'm delighted to say that I've just picked up an email from Tanya at Riley and Company!

waving-moose.jpg"Hi Everyone!"

My name is Riley and I am a moose! A quite adorable and charming moose if I say so myself. I used to be just a small part of another company until my cool Head Moose (Tanya Kostynuk) bought me in 2009. I moved to Kansas City immediately and became the star of my own line! I have a few really close buddies I hang out with. They are Felix the Feline, Burt the Cat (snarky little guy), Tucker the Pup and LeRoy (pronounced Le' ROY - he thinks he is French) the Dog. They keep me company!

A couple years after I moved, Tanya decided to add some fun snarky sayings to my line! They are so much fun and they makes everyone laugh so much that we decided to call them Funny Bones!! My fans went wild and everyone loved them! We are actually the Original Home of Snark! To date - there are over 800 Funny Bones sayings!!!!

And finally, a little bit about our Head Moose - Tanya. She owned a super fun retail rubber stamp store in Shawnee, KS (another suburb of Kansas City) for 12 years. That is how she found me! Today, she runs my business and, in 2017, she partnered with this fun lady named Karen Burniston to create KB Riley. (Cool name huh?) They make really fun pop-up dies. They can help little guys like me FLY and twirl and spin! You can find them at

We absolutely love what we do here at Riley & Company, and moost of all, we LOVE our customers! Moose Fans are the BEST!

Tanya at Riley and Company is kindly offering
a Mystery Stamp Package as a prize
for one lucky RANDOM WINNER!

Thank you so much, Tanya!

Ok, are you ready to meet more members of our Sponsor family?

First up, we have Viva Las VegaStamps.

I have to declare a HUGE love of many stamps on offer at 1008, East Sahara Avenue!

Our stamps: Hand made in the United States. We use pink rubber with the deepest etch in the industry and if buying Mounted or Cushioned, every rubber stamp is cut perfectly by hand with our super sharp Kai Scissors leaving no superfluous rubber and no under-cutting.

VLVS have an massive range of rubber as demonstrated by the 524 hits I got when I typed 'CATS' into their search box - just think of how many stamps they must have in total! They are a purveyor of all things to do with rubber stamping, stamp’art, steampunk, mixed media and more! Janis and VLVS obviously had a long friendship with the joint owners of VLVS. Jeff answered my inital email and expressed his sadness on learning of Janis' passing. I'm deeply touched that Jeff has offered the following prize in memory of Janis and to celebrate their long term relationship with The Cat Lovers Hop:

A Mystery Bag of Unmounted Cat-themed Stamps.
Thankyou, that's amazing and a great prize for
one lucky, RANDOM WINNER

As I said, I'm quite the fan of VLVS stamps, and couldn't resist making this card with one of my favourite VLVS cat stamps. You can find the details of this card, and another featuring stamps by VLVS, on my blog here

Newton's Nook are our next Sponsors to get a 'Shout Out' today!

Who are we?
Newton's Nook Designs is made up of a husband and wife team located in Southern Wisconsin (Go Packers!) Our goal is to provide you with unique and whimsical stamp designs that are fun to use and make you smile!

Jen has always loved to draw and create! About 15 years ago she discovered stamping and card-making and fell in love! Since she first started stamping she has always wanted to create her own stamp designs and is excited to see her visions come to life! All of our stamps are illustrated by Jen. They begin as hand-drawn pencil sketches which she then creates into the digital files that eventually become those cute stamps you love!

Jeff does all the behind the scenes essentials! He answers your questions, ships your orders and keeps everything running smoothly! He has even become a bit of a creative director, giving advice on stamp designs and helping to let Jen know when something doesn't look right!

Where did our name come from?
Newton was our adorable sweet orange tabby cat and the inspiration for our name and logo. One of the first stamp designs that Jen sketched was a kitty - just like Newton - so we thought it was fitting that he be the namesake of the company. Newton passed away in October of 2019. We miss him with all our hearts but take comfort in the fact that he has touched so many lives through our company and that his legacy will live on in our company name and kitty stamps.

Kudos to Jen and Jeff for naming their business after their adorable ginger cat, Newton. You can find out all about this gorgeous ginger boy on their website here.

Janis said "Jen at Newton's Nook Designs has been a faithful encourager and sponsor all 8 years of our Hops!  Many thanks, Jen!!  You were instrumental in these Hops ever happening."

I'm so grateful that Jen and Jeff have kindly extended their support to this memorial challenge.

Newton's Nook have generously offered
a $25 prize for their online shop
Thank you so very much!

Janis's Helpful Hopper Chris has created these two adorable cards using Newton's Candy Cane.

Chris has coloured the cat to look like her own ginger kitty - how many of us do that??!!!

Thanks so much, Chris, your cards are delightful! You can leave Chris some love and find out all the details of how she made her sweet cards by visiting her blog, here. And please don't make me pick a favourite, Chris, as I love them both!

Our next sponsor joined the Cat Lovers Hop sponsor family for the first time last year and I'm delighted to say Cathy has agreed to sponsor this challenge too!  Please say 'hi' to Doodlebugs...

We are a small, family owned business who began our journey into the paper crafting world in 2005. We opened our brick and mortar store in Sequim, WA, offering a large variety of popular, paper crafting, scrapbooking and art supplies. Ten years later, we decided to grow, and opened our online store. Today, we continue to expand our online store to include some of the most popular brands in the paper crafting industry. We are now exclusively an online retailer, continuing to offer the same great products and service that we provided from our Sequim, WA store for so many years.

This sweet company carries a varied range of cardmaking loveliness and
will receive a £25 Gift Coupon for their store.

We are a home based business on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. We design and make rubber art stamps. Each art rubber stamp is hand crafted with the utmost of care.

This company joined Janis as a first time sponsor in 2022 and I'm so happy that they agreed to join the fun once more for 2023. They have some wonderful, whimsical cat images and despite being a small, family business they really wanted to offer a prize for our challenge in memory of Janis.

will receive a mystery prize kitty stamp from their store.

The cat stamps from this company are so cute, and just look at what Janis' Helpful Hopper Kitty has created using some of their products! You can find all the details for her adorable card by clicking here and heading to her blog!
