Christmas Kickstart Challenge - Reminder for Challenge #83

It's the 15th of February and that can only mean one thing: Reminder time here at Christmas Kickstart.

We're in great company this month with Gail from Crafty Nomad as our elf as we continue to go...

Out on a Limb

and create cards featuring things you'll find on trees at Christmas. Don't forget that the tree is optional and not an essential component of your card.

Gail has very kindly made a second card for our challenge. I'm really hoping I don't ever find one of these in a tree at Christmas or at any other time of the year. Thanks Gail, it's a fabulous creation and I love your limited colour combo and fabulous background.

Here's a reminder of Gail's first card made for our challenge:

And here's my creation as inspired by this little sweetheart...

I made a few mistakes with this card, but it still turned out fine in the end. You can read all about it by heading here.

Rudolph has two rather nice stencils on offer as his Random Raffle prize for this month.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #83 - Out on a Limb

I'm delighted to welcome my dear buddy, Gail AKA Crafty Nomad, as our elf for this month.

Our challenge theme is:

Challenge #83 - Out on a Limb

A BIG thank you to Gail for the witty title! We'd like to see things you'll find on a tree at Christmas time. Your tree can be indoors or outside. It can be bedecked with baubles, berries or snowflakes, or maybe a home to birds or creatures seeking shelter form the elements. The choice is yours - just let your imagination take you where it leads!

Here's what Gail made to inspire us...

I love this cute hoot! You can find all the details of how Gail made her sweet card by clicking here.

And now here's my creation, which you can read about over on my blog

How funny that we both ended up with an owl/owls on our cards!

Rudolph has something a little different for us this month as his Random Raffle prize:

Gail and I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge!

Let's trim the Tree for Challenge #82

Hi guys, it's very nearly time for our next challenge here at Christmas Kickstart, so I thought I'd just drop by to Trim the Tree for Challenge #82.

Our elfin muse for this challenge was the very lovely Linda. Linda is as kind, friendly and supportive as she is talented, and I've loved being in touch with her so much over the past few weeks. She was also my 'Sender' at The Card Chain Challenge for January and I was thrilled to receive this beautiful card.  Thanks so much for being our elf, Linda, and for everything you do behind the scenes.

You guys did GREAT with this challenge! A big thank you to everyone who played along with our ever-so-slightly addictive theme. It was really tricky to pick just a few cards to showcase, but Linda and I have come up with the following...

Our Top Picks are:

#3 - Sally

We love Sally's layered snowflakes.

A feast for the eyes!

#46 - Cindy
Cindy's gold embossing really 'pops' against the teal.

#51 - Cornelia
Just look at Cornelia's golden Rudolph - what a fab card.

Our Star on the Tree for this Challenge is:

Lia's beautiful poinsettia looks so good against her embossed star.
We also loved all the texture Lia's included.

Congratulations to all our showcased card makers - I hope you'll enjoy flaunting your blog badges for all the world to see!

Finally, here's our favourite reindeer dude with his randomly drawn winner.

Rudolph's Random Raffle Winner
for January is:

Congratulations, Kate, please could you get in touch with me (Jo) at dottypudding (at) aol.com so that I can connect you with your prize.

Thanks again to Linda, and also thank you to everyone who played along with our Midas Touch Challenge. Hurry back tomorrow for a brand new challenge and to meet our February elf!
