Christmas Kickstart Reminder post

Welcome back, it's reminder time here at Christmas Kickstart as the month of August is simply flying by.

We're playing with this fabulous photo inspiration until the end of the month...

and we're in great company as we have my sweet pal, Hilary, performing the elfin duties.

Hilary has very kindly made a card for this reminder post and I know you'll love it as much as I do!

You can find all the details on her blog.

Here's what I made:

I just love all the colours on the inspiration photo, plus the clean, modern vibe of the picture, so tried to encapsulate that in my card. The image and sentiment are from Merriest Snowflake by Wplus9.

Finally, don't forget that Rudolph has a lovely Random Raffle Prize on offer for this challenge.

Hope you'll come and join Hilary and me for this fun challenge!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #53 - Photo-Inspiration

Welcome to Challenge #53 here at Christmas Kickstart, it's great to have you join the fun.

We have a fabulous new elf to inspire us with her creativity this month. Let's give a very big welcome to my crafting buddy Hilary from Fiddling About.

"It is such an honour to have been invited by Jo to be her guest Elf on Christmas Kickstarter Challenge #53. My name is Hilary Wright and I live in a small market town near the Suffolk coast in the UK. I first started making cards when I retired from a career in the NHS, but it took me a while to gain enough confidence to start sharing my creations on my blog (https://myfiddlingaboutpage.blogspot.com). I needn’t have worried though, as I quickly found this wonderful supportive and encouraging community. My first post was in June 2017 and it feels like I have come a long way since then and have met many other amazing card makers. I love the fact that there are other people just like me out there making cards. I really never knew that I had a creative side, so it is great to now be exploring it. I feel particularly honoured that Jo asked me to join her for the August challenge as I often struggle with Christmas cards and don’t usually make them out of season, but times they are a changing!"

It's great to have you here, Hilary!

For this month we're taking our 'theme' from this gorgeous photograph.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #53 - Photo-Inspiration

There's so much loveliness going on here that you have to study the picture for a couple of minutes to take it all in.

Here's what Hilary made, taking her inspiration from that gorgeous wreath. You can find all the details about her beautiful card by visiting her blog.

I love how Hilary has layered the sequins and circles - looks gorgeous!

Here's what I made.

I had to hand dye a considerable number of tiny pop-poms to make this card! You can find my other card and all the details on the one above over at my blog.

Here's Rudolph with his Random Raffle Prize for this challenge. There are some lovely images in this set.

Hilary and I very much hope you'll come and join the fun. We can't wait to see how YOU are inspired by that stunning picture.
