Christmas Kickstart Challenge #60 - Reminder

It never fails to amaze me how quickly the 'Reminder' posts come around!

This month we're joined by the lovely Carol from Inkyfingers as our elfin muse and our theme is:

Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies

Isn't Carol's card gorgeous? I love that minty green and the curved panel - just lovely! Please drop by at her blog to leave her some love and to read how she created her card.

I was so taken with Carol's card and after reading about how she made it I had so many different ideas for my 'Inspired by' make. I especially like how Carol has sanded back the cardstock to reveal the snowflakes, so used the same technique on my card.

My second card steals that lovely, sinuous curve that Carol used to such great effect. I've not used these pretty Simon Says Stamp sentiment dies for ages. The Rylynn Snowflake is also from Simon Says.

Rudolph has a lovely snowflakey prize on offer for this challenge. Remember, all you need to do is enter a card in the gallery to go into the hat for Rudolph's Random Raffle.

Carol and I very much hope you'll come and play along with this challenge as it's never too early to get started on your cards for Christmas 2022.

Let's Trim the Tree for Challenge #59

Phew, I've finally found time to sit down and write this post during what seems to be a surprisingly busy week.

Our guest for this Challenge #59 was the lovely Jen from Jenerally Speaking and our theme was The Sentiment Takes Centre Stage.

Isn't this a great picture? It so deserves a caption! I'd like to say a very big thank you to Jen for undertaking her elfin duties and also for all the 'backstage' chat and friendship we've shared while partnering for this challenge. Jen, you're one in a million.

We had some gorgeous, really eye-catching cards in the gallery and it took Jen and me a little while to decide on our favourites.

Our Top Picks are:

Toni

We just loved everything about Toni's pretty creation.

Linda

Just look at this classy card - such lovely attention to detail.

Eliz

That beautiful, sparkly background really let's the sentiment and images 'pop'.

This week we have two fabulous cards Topping the Tree.

Sally

We love the jaunty angle of the 'E', and the glitter is a terrific touch.

Cornelia

The gold embossing against the black and the positioning of the
red gems really 'wowed' us.

Congratulations to you all. Please grab, display and enjoy your blog badges!

Rudolph is here to award his Random Raffle Prize for this challenge.

Congratulations #22 Alison C - it's you!

Congratulations, Alison, please contact me at dottypudding(at)aol.com with your snail mail address so I can connect you with your prize.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #60 - Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies

It's the first day of the month and therefore time to begin a new challenge here at Christmas Kickstart!

We have a brand new elf and a new theme, so please welcome the very talented Carol from Inky Fingers.

"Hello, I am Carol of inkyfingeredcarolI live in Manchester with my husband and am fortunate that my three children and grandchild live fairly close to me. I have been crafting and blogging for many years and now I am retired, I can play as often as I like. I started with scrapbooking and then moved on to cardmaking after I decided to make all my own Christmas cards one year. I'm still hooked on Christmas cards but I have branched out to lots of other occasions now too! When I'm not crafting, I enjoy reading, theatre, cooking, and serving as a school governor. I was so pleased when Jo asked me to be a guest Elf, and I look forward to seeing all your snowflake inspiration in the gallery."

Our theme for this challenge is:

Let's Trim the Tree for Challenge #58

Hi there cardfans, I'm a little late with this post, so let's get on and Trim that Tree for Challenge #58.

Our theme was Rainbow Christmas and our elfin muse was the lovely Cornelia of Stempel Spass

Thanks so much, Cornelia, it was great fun partnering with you for this challenge and being inspired by your gorgeous cards.

I was so happy to see so many of you entering this challenge with it being straight after the festive season, but a rather fabulous 36 of you took the plunge and started your card stash for Christmas 2022.

Your colourful cards were a delight and choosing a few to showcase has been very tricky, but here are our Top Picks and our Tree Topper for this challenge:

Top Picks

Jenny

Isn't Jenny's card adorable? We both love the sweet and whimsical manner
in which she used the Rainbow theme.

A stunning background AND a lovely 'splash' of humour!

A beautiful, bright card with which to chase away those Winter blues.

Topping the Tree this week we have this beautiful card

Eliz

Cornelia and I both loved this super-colourful scene!

Congratulations to Eliz, Vicky, Toni and Jenny! Please grab your blog badges and flaunt them for all the world to see.

Finally, it's time for the results of Rudolph's Random Raffle. Good old Rudolph has chosen a sweet embossing folder for his first prize first prize of 2022.

Congratulations to #8 Valerija, it's you!

Valerija, please contact me at dottypudding (at) aol.com with your email address so I can connect you with your prize.

Once again, a very big thankyou to Cornelia and also to everyone who played along in this challenge. We have a new theme and a new elf, so why not come on over and play along!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #59 - The Sentiment takes Centre Stage

It's the first Tuesday of the month and so it's time for a brand new challenge here at Christmas Kickstart! A big thank you to everyone who played in the previous challenge, it was great to see so many of you making Christmas cards in January.

We have a new theme and a fabulous new elf on board to inspire us. Please welcome the rather wonderful Jennifer W from Jenerally Speaking!

"Hi there!  I’m Jen and I'm thrilled to have been invited by Jo to be a Guest Elf this month.  I live in Bermuda with my husband and our cat, Ella, who graciously lets us serve and adore her.   After years of working at an animal hospital I am now happily employed at a tiny local bookstore that’s been a fixture on the island for over 70 years.  I’ve been cardmaking since 2007 and blogging since 2010.  Life has kept me from crafting for the last few months and I am itching to get back to making cards and being inspired by all my talented Blogland friends."

Our theme for this month is:
The Sentiment takes Centre Stage

We'd like to see big, bold sentiments on your cards that are quite clearly
the star of the show and the main attraction.

Here's what Jen created for this challenge:

Isn't this great? Take a look at Jen's blog to find out all the details on how she made this little piece of brilliance.

Here's what I made for the challenge.

I used Spellbinders Nestabilities and a set from Hero Arts called Joy Stamp and Cut to make my card. For all the details on this and top see the other cards I made for this challenge, take a look on my blog by clicking here.

Finally, here's Rudolph with his Random Raffle Prize for this challenge.

Please, don't forget to read the challenge guidelines as Rudolph gets quite grumpy when he can't award his randomly drawn prize... And let's face it, nobody wants a grumpy reindeer!
