Christmas Kickstart Challenge #56 - Christmas Snippets

It's November, and there's no ignoring that Christmas is only a few weeks away!

We've got a fun challenge for this month, and I'd like you to welcome Queen of the Snippets lovely Di from Pixie's Crafty Playground

"I'm Diane (Di to most people), retired and I live in Hampshire, UK. The name Pixie's Crafty Workshop came about because my 'in-house critic' refers to 'The pixie being hard at work' whenever I'm playing with paper or other crafty stuff. And he's right, it's mostly when I should be doing other things :) I've always loved paper crafting - especially using scissors. Aged five and laid up with measles, in a fit of boredom I chopped my fringe right off! If it can be trimmed, then I'll trim it! In September 2018 we were joined by a darling bundle of fun, a Havanese dog named Dudley. He brightens up the most over clouded day and is an absolute delight. If the happiness and pure joy that radiates from him could be bottled - we'd be worth a fortune!"

I'm a bit of a latecomer to Di's fun challenge Pixie's Snippets Playground but having discovered it I've become a regular visitor as it's such an inspiring site! It's good to meet you, Di, and thanks so much for agreeing to be our elfin inspiration for this challenge which just had to be:

Challenge #56 - Christmas Snippets

On your cards we'd like to see your use of 'Snippets', those little piles of pretty, can't throw away, scraps of beautiful design paper that we all have.  Here's the gorgeous card that Di created to inspire us for this challenge - isn't it adorable?

I love that Di decided to use her snippets to paper piece her card (what a fun idea) and just look how tiny those hearts are... Great cutting skills!

I must own-up and admit that I saw Di's card just before I'd started making mine. Paper piecing is something I really enjoy, so a little bit sneaked onto my card for this challenge too.

Here's what I made. You can find further details of this make over on my blog. I used products from the fabulous StickerKitten who have very kindly offered to provide a £10.00 voucher for Rudolph's Random Raffle for this challenge.

Never heard of Stickerkitten? Well, you are certainly in for a treat as their products are lovely and so modern and easy to work with.

"Hi, I’m Sarah and I run StickerKitten with my husband James. StickerKitten is a small company based in Berkshire, UK, offering high quality, cute and contemporary craft supplies for cardmaking and scrapbooking including paper packs, stamps, sequins, embellishments, ephemera, planner stickers and cardmaking kits. Our products are all designed by us and made in the UK. We started our company in 2016 with the aim of making beautiful, colourful and easy to use papercraft supplies for UK crafters."

To say that Rudolph is cock-a-hoop about his Random Raffle prize for this challenge is an understatement. A very BIG thank you to Sarah for generously offering this prize. Please take a look at the gorgeous items that she and James have in their shop

Diane and I very much hope you'll break out those snippets and come play along in this challenge which runs until the end of this month. If you do enter you'll be eligible for a 10% discount at Stickerkitten - how cool and kind is that! All you'll need to do is quote xmaskickstart10 at checkout when you shop. Please read Sarah's information about delivery before placing an order. All orders over £30.00 are delivered free.

  13. Hi Ladies, a wonderful way to rid ourselves from some of our scrap bits, I followed Miss Di's tip to keep the small pieces on the back of a paper pad inside an envelope. Thank you for the inspiration and challenge... Megan
